Our Team

Chiropractic Arts was founded January 1, 1990, at its present location. Dr. Barbara Buettner, after having worked for a local chiropractor was given the opportunity to open a solo practice. Chiropractic Arts is a hands on chiropractic practice that offers chiropractic care along with massage therapy.

Often in this practice chiropractic care needs to be supplemented with muscle work, hot and cold therapy, exercises and home care. These are explained to each patient and tailored to each case. We strive to be involved with the patient's everyday life and activities to help their health be optimum. Dr. Buettner takes care of a wide spectrum of people from newborns to the elderly, athletes, people in pain and people who just want to stay well.

Chiropractic Arts is a fun loving, easy going, patient oriented practice. Each patient is treated as an individual with care and concern for their health. Expect a unique health care experience at Chiropractic Arts!

Dr. Barbara Buettner

Hi, I am Barbara Buettner, D.C., the D.C. stands for Doctor of Chiropractic, the degree I earned in 1987. I am from Cullman and love this city! Both my parents are from here, Richard and Barbara Buettner, and they still live in Cullman. My brother, John, lives in Montgomery and is a dentist. His wife, Kendall is an orthodontist and they have two awesome daughters, Dawson and Laurel. I am a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church here in Cullman.

I firmly believe God told me to be a chiropractor. It is an interesting story how I followed his lead to my life’s work. Ask me to tell you the story sometime!! I graduated from Life Chiropractic College (now University) in Georgia. Before attending Chiropractic College I graduated from Cullman High School, attended Auburn University, University of Alabama and Wallace State College. I attended several colleges to allow me to quickly finish my requirements for Life College, asap! I still have to say “War Eagle”, even after attending all these colleges.

I practiced at another local chiropractic office for three years before opening Chiropractic Arts in 1990. It has been an exciting and interesting many years caring for my patients. I have many third generation patients and huge extended families of patients. Word of good care travels fast!

Throughout the years we always have an office pet. We currently have a Black German Shepherd named Tesla (Tess for short), a Sugar Glider named Clarice, and lots of fish! In 2015 we lost our most famous office dog Emma who came to work for 11 years and was loved by all. Animals have a great relaxing factor for everyone!

I am married to Dewayne Jennings of Vinemont and have one stepson, Jake. Dewayne is retired military and now is farm manager of our farm, Paradise Hollow. We live on the west side of Cullman, north of Trimble. I enjoy riding and driving my horses, training dogs, driving “the dragon” in my convertible, riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, canoeing, hiking, rappelling, playing my banjo, and knitting. Whew that’s a lot! But it keeps life interesting. Come by we can pick a little or talk about our latest adventures!

Whitney Parks

Hey Y’all! I’m Whitney Parks. I’m the Office Manager at Chiropractic Arts. I’ve been working alongside Dr. Barb since January 2022. I’ll be the person who greets you, answers the phone, takes your x-rays, run your insurance, and schedule your future appointments! It’s a hard job but someone’s gotta do it… and I’m that gal.

I have been married to Kenny Parks, going on twelve years now. You may see us bouncing around the Cullman softball fields with our daughters. We have three very social daughters who play softball all year round, they keep us very busy! Anna Grace is fourteen, Kenly is ten, and Sophina is my baby at six years old. We are always running around but I guess it keeps us young.

When we aren’t at the softball fields, I enjoy spending time with my family and three fur babies. I’m a very much a people person who loves meeting new people and helping others. I absolutely love working with these sweet people at Chiropractic Arts. I can’t wait to meet everyone and hear your stories.

Tesla Buettner

Hello Hoomans! I'm Tesla Buettner aka Tess the public relations pupperino. My hooman is Dr. Buettner aka Mommmmmmmmm. I was born July 4. 2016. I have been with my hooman since I was just a wee pup. She’s kinda the best.

My best fur fren is Ranger my bruder. We chase the ball, swim in the pond, go on hikes, and play with our kitties. I love all animals…except those squeaky tree rats. Oof…I really hate them. One of my favorite thing to do is run next to mom while she rides her horses.

I’m a certified therapy dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Pre-Covid My hooman and I use to visit the Folsom Center and several other facilities to share puppy love. Hopefully we will be able to do that again very soon. I love visiting people and showing off my tricks! I know lots of tricks but my favorite would definitely be speak! I will always do a trick for a snackie or two… remember that if you come to visit me!

I come to work with my mom everyday and absolutely love it! I was made to be a working dog. You can find me hanging out in moms office probably taking a nap or chewing on a chew. I love to meet everyone but make sure you always ask before petting me or any animal! Safety First! I’m a very friendly doggo but sometimes you don’t get so lucky. I can’t wait to see you all soon! Awoooooooooo!

P.s.s.s- Come see my hooman so she can keep buying me the good snackies and comfy beds!
